Good morning,
My name is Diana Martinez, and I am studying Marketing and Spanish with a minor in Business Law. I am excited to take a class as such because I have not studied existentialism. It sounds like a very interesting topic, and I am excited to see what this class entails. I like to take English classes because one of my professional goals is to attend law school to become an attorney. Hopefully, I can get a license for a state in the U.S.A (I do not know which one yet) and one for Mexico. I am interested in intellectual property, but I am open to any area for now. I like to draw and paint on my free time and my favorite book is "To Kill a Mockingbird." I am currently reading ''Go Set a Watchman," "Refugee," and "My Beloved World." I like to read multiple books at a time because it is similar to watching multiple shows. They are all entertaining but in different situations.

Hello,
I am Grace Nicholson, and I am a Graduate student in Lamar's Department of English and Modern languages. I study English and am particularly interested in Comparative Literature. I hope to be a literature professor at a college or university, study literature, and become a novel writer when I graduate with my PHD (someday, lol). I am excited to be in this class, because I have previously read "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" by Milan Kundera, "The Trial" by Franz Kafka, and Tolstoy's "Fathers and Sons"; these novels were my first tastes of existentialism, and I am eager to learn more. I have a habit of loving dystopian literature, so I'm always hopeful to find new novels within the genre. I am currently reading Harry Potter fanfiction (specifically the marauder era) and a few young adult series that I go back and forth with quite often for light reading. I also enjoy videogames; I've been playing Elder Scrolls Online and Skyrim, Subnautica, and the Sims 4.

My name is Dusti Comeaux and I am studying Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in English 4-8. I am excited to take on this class as this will be my first experience with existentialism. I took several English novel courses last semester, but none like this! Before my school schedule became hectic I read in my spare time but that has become a thing of the past. I live in Orange and am a mother to a 12-year-old daughter. I should begin my student teaching residency in August and graduate in May. Once I graduate, I plan to find a job in my school district, hopefully (LCM). I am a late bloomer as I just turned 36, but it is better late than never! I look forward to this class and what I will learn! Good luck to everyone!

Hello everyone!
My name is Jarely Rebollar, and I am an undergraduate student studying Psychology and minoring in Writing. It's my passion to learn more about the human mind and to help others, as well as to further my writing skills. Existentialism intrigues me because it relates back to psychology by how others think, and I hope by taking this class I can learn more about this subject and incorporate it into my own writing (as I hope to one day publish my own novel).
Hope to have a great summer semester with y'all!

Hello Everyone,
My name is Mitchell Junious of Beaumont. I am currently a graduate student in the English department at Lamar and am always trying to improve my writing (since that is my focus). I have worked for a long time in the television/broadcasting industry, and am a photographer. With regards to Existentialism, I am admittedly a complete neophyte, but I do enjoy Sartre, even when I do not completely understand it. I hope to grow beyond my current understanding of Existentialism over the course of this "sum-mester", and would like to be able to be able to write better about Existentialism and be able to apply it more cohesively in my personal work.

Good afternoon, my name is Meagan Currie. Currently, I am a sophomore attending Lamar University. I am pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in English along with a teaching certification. In the future, I would like to pursue my Master’s degree. When it comes to the grades I wish to teach, I would prefer Junior High English and Literature, High School English and Literature, or AP Literature. I enjoy writing, reading, acting, music, and more. Some of my favorite literary works include but are not limited to: “The Yellow Wallpaper”, “The Alchemist”, “Educated”, “Ozymandias”, and “Snow Falling on Cedars”. Regarding my goals for this class, I wish to broaden my knowledge of the literary and philosophical concept of existentialism. I am looking forward to learning new ideas and observing how each of my peers perceive various concepts and texts.
