As I was reading chapter 17 where Lovett pronounces his love for Lannie, I was confused at the whole situation. From the moment they met, I knew that Lovett was drawn to her, but anyone could see that she was a little eccentric and mostly likely using him. But, I guess you could argue that he "like" being needed and used, which she says I believe. Then, out of the blue, he blurts out that he's in love with her? Was it because of Hollingsworth? Did he feel sorry for her? He mentions later that it wasn't a lovers relationship, but more like a father-daughter one (which opens up sooooo many more issues, I know!). Does he seem himself in her? Things that he wishes he could be? I feel like I'm missing something in this relationship, because that just seemed very uncharacteristic of Lovett. He wanted Guinevere, but he was infatuated with her, nothing more. He could've cared less about Hollingsworth & the women he picked up. More questions than answers I suppose!
